The Center for Global Policy (CGP) is a non-partisan think tank in Washington working to enhance US foreign policy based on a deep understanding of the geopolitics of the different regions of the world and their value systems. CGP is affiliated with Fairfax University of America.
The current CGP was founded in 2019 by Dr. Ahmed Alwani, who serves as its president. He is an Iraqi-American businessman with holdings in multiple ventures in the real estate and food sectors in Virginia and Georgia.
Dr. Alwani took over CGP after the dissolution of an older California-registered entity by the same name, which had existed since 2016. CGP is funded by FXUA, which in addition to tuition revenue has received grants from Dr. Alwani. CGP operates as a division of FXUA, which provides logistical and institutional support, but has given the center complete editorial independence. It is one of the few think tanks in Washington with no foreign or local agendas and does not accept any foreign funding.
