Abdullah al-Ghadhawi is a journalist covering the Middle East since 2005 for the Saudi newspaper Okaz. He reported from Syria and Iraq, where he interviewed leaders of the Turkish insurgent group Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in their mountainous headquarters and members of the Islamic State in Kurdish custody. He published extensively on Syria for Arabic newspapers as well as for research centers like the London-based Chatham House.
